Primary Activities
I ROBO 
Students build a robot from scratch. The cost for this activity shall be calculated upon confirmation of numbers.
Yoga 
Students learn basic yoga poses and learn how to handle stress in healthy ways. Children learn the self-calming, self-regulating techniques inherent in the practice of yoga and meditation.
Quiz Club
Students will be put in mixed aged groups. Initially quizzes will be prepared and delivered by the teacher. Towards the end of the term groups will be given the opportunity to research and collaborate, to produce and deliver their own quizzes.
Drawing 
In Drawing club children will learn to create colourful pictures by following step-by-step instructions. They will build on simple squiggles and geometric shapes to create a range of drawings such as animals, people, dinosaurs and plants. With these acquired skills, students will have the confidence to illustrate their school work and to develop their own unique creativity.
Pattern 
Students will study line and colour to design and make a variety of patterns
Dance Club 
Children will experience a variety of dance styles and work towards a performance piece.
Dough and clay modeling 
How to make dough, model with it and bake it to keep as a work of art.
Scrabble 
Children will have the chance to develop their vocabulary on a weekly basis through word games.
Football 
Children will have the opportunity to practice their football skills, and to enjoy playing football games. They will monitor and evaluate each other's performance and will design programmes for themselves and others to improve skills and knowledge of the game. There will also be other mini-competitions weekly such as penalty kicks, "castles", and juggling skills
Basket/Netball 
Students that participate in Basketball/Netball as their activity will be involved in a variety of modified basketball/netball games as well as been given the opportunity to improve and learn individual skills such as dribbling and shooting out of a game situation.
Board Games 
Students are accessed to different types of board and card games. They will be introduced different games every 2 weeks. They will develop social skills to interact with other students and strategies to win the game.
Documentary Club
A collection of documentary films will be shown covering mainly Historical Events and the Natural World. Students are allowed to vote for their preferred topic from a range of choices at the start of each club and discussion of the topic happens during and after each film.
French Culture 
Students will be in touch with different aspects of the French Culture: dance, music, comics, films etc. As a group, they will get to choose what aspect they want to study more deeply. They will then develop a better knowledge of the French Culture.
Eco Art 
Helping the environment by doing projects and artwork.
Pencil and Paper games 
Children will learn to play a range of games, that need no more than a pencil and paper , developing strategical skills and logical thinking.
Uno 
Children learn to develop their skills of strategy and at the same time learn to cope with winning and losing.
Collage Club 
Students will learn to select and position images to create collages to represent a variety of topics.
ICT 
Using ICT to design and create - ideas for all celebrations and occasions. Calendars, birthday cards, mother's day cards, father's day cards, posters for parties.... anything to do with celebrations and special occasions.
Dodgeball 
A ball sports based lesson. the focus is on fun and the benefits of exercise.
Drawing allsorts 
Investigating and imitating a variety of drawing styles and techniques throughout this activity.
Arsenal Soccer School 
Asia Football Confederation qualified coaches - a 11 week program based upon 15-20 students and priced at 110 USD per student. This price could change however, if there is less than the allotted quota of students.
Embroidery 
Children will continue their embroidery skills in higher level , they will expand their patience and imagination's ability throughout this activity.
Educational Board Games 
Will help the children improve their grammar and vocabulary skills while having fun.
Drama Club 
Students will play various drama games using their own creativities.
Choir 
An opportunity for children to improve their singing and learn new songs.
Puzzle Club 
Children can practise their patience and concentration span.
Chinese calligraphy and painting 
Students are going to learn Chinese calligraphy and paintings as one of Chinese culture experience. They will be introduced strokes and orders of writing Chinese characters and basic drawings. They will be writing radicals and learn the meanings. also, they will be able to write simple words which they can see in their lives.
Chess Club 
An open club for boys and girls at all levels.
Scrabble 
Children will play this fun game while expanding their English vocabulary in the process.
Dinosaur Club 
Children will learn about a different dinosaur each week, learning their name and some special facts about them. They will compile a dinosaur fact book to take home at the end of term.
International Day
‘International Day' is one of the highlights of the school year. The event starts with the Parade of Nations with all students dressed in their national costume or clothing that in some way is representative or their home country carrying their national flag. There are ‘international activities to enjoy and a sumptuous feast of international food.
Book Week
Book Week is celebrated annually to promote the enjoyment of books and literature. A wide range of activities are organized throughout the week, culminating a most colourful event where the children and teachers dress up as their favourite book character. A Book Fair is also organised during this period.
Moon Festival
RISS celebrates the traditional Moon Festival, Tet Trung Thu. This is a festival common to several Asian communities including China and Korea, as well as Viet Nam. Children come to school in Vietnamese, Korean or Chinese traditional clothing and to take part in a Moon Day lantern parade and enjoy the traditional Moon Cakes.
Secondary Activities
Performance
RISS has an outstanding reputation for its performing arts and the wonderful school theatre is put to full use throughout the year. Highly successful musicals, dance productions and concerts are featured throughout the year.
House Competition
House competitions are carried out throughout the year, ranging from sporting to creative and academic challenges. Cups, certificates and awards of merit are presented to successful individuals and teams.
Field trips
All classes participate in educational excursions, with students from Year 4 onwards having an opportunity to experience residential field trips. As well as residential excursions within Vietnam, students have to date travelled to Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia and worked on the Round Square IDEALS, where the focus of the activities is on Internationalism, 
Democracy, Environment, Activity,Leadership and Service.
Swimming Gala
All students receive regular swimming lessons and each year, Swimming Galas are held for all sections of the school. These are keenly contested. RISS also participates in swimming galas in competition against other schools.
Charity
RISS actively looks for opportunities to support a wide range of charities. Most of these are local in origin. The generosity of students and parents has helped us make a difference.
Rock Climbing (S, A, L)
This Activity is for IB CAS students only and it is a great way to challenge yourself and learn life skills. If you would like to lose a little weight and tone those muscles, this course is for you.
Sports & Fitness ASDAN Award (A,L)
This award accredits up to 60 hours of our students activities in all areas of sport and fitness, for example: football, canoeing, trampolining, basketball and fitness training.
International Award (Duke of Edinburgh) (C,I,D,E,A,L,S)
A DofE programme is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from. You just need to be aged between 14 and 24 and realise there's more to life than sitting on a sofa watching life pass you by.
Expressive Arts ASDAN Award(C)
This award accredits up to 60 hours of our students creative Arts activities for example: Music, Art, Dance, Theatre, Circus Skills, Ceramics, Craft and Textiles.
Environment ASDAN Award(C,E,S)
The aims of the Environmental Award are to: help our students to develop and demonstrate a range of skills through their environmental activities and studies and to provide a way in which they can gain credit for what they have learnt from the wide variety of activities they have undertaken both inside and out of formal education.
Basketball, Football, Netball, Swimming & Badminton(A,S)
Although these Clubs are mainly aimed at being recreational they are structured around a program which addresses technique, physical and mental aspects of the games. Coaching will be provided on the rules and regulations of the sports.
Spanish, Korean and Chinese Culture(C,I,S)
These Clubs will enable our students to gain a meaningful understanding and appreciation of the different languages, cultures and countries. Areas of involvement could be contacting the local Ambassadors here in Vietnam or hosting a Spanish, Korean or Chinese evening at RISS.
Art & Crafts(C,S)
This Club will encourage students to gain a sense of achievement at producing a Project. Students will develop individually their creativity in a peaceful environment which is the ultimate goal.
Kung Fu(A,S)
Nam Huynh Dao Kung Fu is a Vietnamese ancient martial art that incorporates physical training, Kung Fu techniques and the philosophy of peace and well-being.
Fitness Room(C,S)
Students who opt for this Club will develop their individual levels of fitness under the direct supervision of a member of staff. The school has a well equipped fitness room and students will be shown how to use the equipment correctly and safely. Increasing their fitness levels will then have a positive impact upon their studies and involvement within other areas of the Activities Programme.
Student Council(C,I,D,E,A,L,S)
Students from all year groups will gather with the ultimate goal of making their school the best that it could possibly be. This Club will be involved in all of the decision making processes that happen in school which directly involve students.
School Musical(C,S)
This major production which is presented in collaboration with both the Music and Drama Depts. continues to wow audiences year after year. This year it's the Lion King.
Homework Club(S)
Here at RISS we appreciate that some students may require that extra one-to-one assistance from a member of staff and this Club with address the need.
Orchestra(C,S)
This activity is one of the School's musical ensembles. It is not selective by ability or instrumentation so anyone who can play a musical instrument to a basic level or above is welcome to join.
Photography Club(C,S)
Photography is all about catching the here and now. This could include for a class at work or a school at play whatever the subject this Club will take the picture.
Sports for Fun(C,A,L,S)
The school is aware that some students do not wish to become involved with teams but still require an avenue for their sporting interests and this Club will address this.
School Publications(C,I,D,E,L,S)
Following on from and building upon Ms. Anne's excellent work the School Publications Club will actively promote all activities. Close links will be formed with the Photography Club.
Model United Nations Jnr. & Snr. (C,I,D,E,A,L,S)
The MUN programs provide a diverse group of informed students and faculty a forum for addressing global concerns in a "real world" context. Conferences address important issues including regional conflicts, peacekeeping, human rights, women and children, economic and social development, and the environment.
Young Enterprise Club(C,I,D,E,L,S)
Young Enterprise is building a connected world of young people, business volunteers and educators, inspiring each other to succeed through enterprise.
RISS Service Club(C,I,D,E,A,L,S)
Each student is encouraged to perform a substantial number of service hours, either in school-sponsored, regional or international projects.
Recycling(C,E,L,S)
This group of students will pro-actively approach the subject area of Recycling within the school to include for all areas of Teaching and Administration. No area will be out of bounds.
Football / Basketball Competition
RISS has successfully competed in both football and basketball competitions against other schools in HCMC with some very good results. In particular, the Boys Primary Basketball team was unbeaten throughout the season and won the end of season competition as well.
